ADDANKI, March 1, 2026 – To accelerate regional development and bridge the connectivity gap, the Addanki Railway Sadhana Samithi organized a massive peaceful rally titled “Walk for Railway” today. Hundreds of citizens, students, and local leaders marched through the streets of Addanki, demanding the immediate realization of the Piduguralla-Addanki-Ongole railway line.
The rally commenced at 8:00 AM at the Government Girls High School and proceeded through key landmarks, including Gandhi Bomma Center, Bhavani Center, and the RTC Bus Stand, before concluding at Bunglow Road.
Key Highlights of the Rally:
• Connectivity: Representatives emphasized that this rail line would provide direct, high-speed access to three major state capitals: Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru.
• Capital Link: Connecting Addanki to Ongole via Amaravati, Sattenapalli, or Narasaraopet would significantly reduce travel time to the new state capital.
• Economic Growth: The Sadhana Samithi noted that a dedicated railway station would boost local trade, improve transport facilities, and create vast employment opportunities for the youth.
During the march, participants paid floral tributes to statues of national and regional icons, including Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Potti Sriramulu, Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
"This rally marks a historic step toward the modernization of Addanki," stated a spokesperson for the Samithi. "The overwhelming support from farmers, traders, and women proves that a railway station is no longer just a demand—it is a necessity for our survival and growth."
