Widely known as โMama Ranger,โ Ms. Songco has dedicated decades to protecting the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the worldโs most outstanding marine protected areas. Through her leadership and advocacy, she has become an inspiring figure in marine conservation and environmental stewardship in the Philippines and beyond.
Her participation is especially timely as the global community celebrates the International Day for Women in Maritime on 18 May 2026, recognizing the invaluable contributions of women leaders in advancing marine conservation, sustainable oceans, and maritime excellence.
