What if a spinal cord injury didn't have to mean the end of movement?

We're proud to announce our new partnership with the Kessler Foundation — bringing a revolutionary spinal cord stimulation therapy to patients living with a spinal cord injury, with the goal of helping them regain movement, mobility, and independence.

❓How does spinal cord stimulation work

By delivering small electrical signals to the spinal cord, this therapy reactivates the nerves below the injury site, helping restore the brain-body connection.

🤝 Why the Kessler Foundation and Sheba Medical Center?

The Kessler Foundation is a global leader in rehabilitation research, with world-renowned experts in spinal cord stimulation and a proven track record of turning science into clinical practice. Sheba Medical Center is the largest medical facility in the Middle East, ranked among the world's best for 8 consecutive years, with large-scale rehabilitation services and cutting-edge research infrastructure. Together, they make the best of both worlds: pioneering research and real-world clinical care to bring advanced therapy to patients who need it most.

This , we want you to know: there is HOPE.

At Sheba Medical Center, we’re offering an advanced treatment as part of a research program for patients diagnosed with lymphoma, myeloma, or acute lymphocytic leukemia called CAR-T therapy.

❓What is CAR-T therapy

CAR-T (chimeric antigen receptor) is a type of immunotherapy, a treatment that activates your own immune system against cancer. Unlike traditional treatments, CAR-T therapy is personalized, as it starts with the patient's *own* immune cells, which are genetically engineered in a lab to recognize and respond to specific cancer cells.

❓How does it work

➡️ A patient's own T-cells are collected from their blood
➡️ In a specialized lab, the cells are genetically engineered to recognize specific cancer cells
➡️ The engineered cells are multiplied and prepared for treatment
➡️ The engineered cells are infused back into the patient's body

❓How does Sheba approach CAR-T therapy

At Sheba Medical Center, we have established a dedicated division for treating patients eligible for CAR-T therapy, with a decade of experience. This is where our doctors produce CAR T-cells in-house, engineer them in a specialized laboratory, and administer the treatment – all under one roof.

As part of a research program, our CAR-T therapy specialists have already treated hundreds of patients diagnosed with lymphoma, myeloma, or acute lymphocytic leukemia, both adults and children, arriving from all over the world.

If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with one of these blood cancers and cannot access CAR-T therapy in your country — reach out to us today via the link below: https://www.shebaonline.org/new-patients/

This , we're looking beyond the butterfly.

The butterfly-shaped rash is one of the most recognized signs associated with lupus - a chronic autoimmune disease that can affect many parts of the body. But for millions of people worldwide, lupus can also be unpredictable, complex, and sometimes invisible.

At Sheba Medical Center, advancing care for complex conditions like lupus is part of our mission to bring patients hope without boundaries. Through research-based innovation, Sheba's experts in rheumatology are exploring advanced approaches that may help create new possibilities for people living with lupus.

On , we highlight the importance of awareness.

Ovarian cancer symptoms can closely resemble common PMS symptoms, including bloating, pelvic or abdominal pain, feeling full quickly, and changes in urination. Because of this resemblance, they are often overlooked, which can delay diagnosis.

Like breast cancer, ovarian cancer is associated with family history and BRCA gene mutations. Most health organizations recommend BRCA testing from age 25 for women with a personal or family history.

Unlike breast cancer, there are no widely recognized routine screening tests for ovarian cancer, making awareness especially important when symptoms can easily be mistaken for PMS.
