The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ) has donated 750 ceramic body armor vests valued at approximately $500,000 to Magen David Adom volunteers, alongside a new ambulance designated for the MDA station in Ashkelon.
A ceremony took place at the MDA Complex in Ramla to inaugurate the new ambulance, which will bolster life-saving operations in Ashkelon and the surrounding region.
The ceramic vests will be distributed to MDA teams nationwide to protect EMTs and paramedics during life-threatening situations, including terrorist attacks, rocket strikes, and active shooter incidents.
The need to reinforce team protection became especially critical during the war, as MDA crews repeatedly deployed to high-risk scenes-often under fire, to reach the injured and deliver critical medical care.
These protective vests will enable MDA teams to operate in hazardous environments with shielding against gunfire and other threats, minimizing risks for those on the medical frontline of life-saving operations.
The ambulance and vests were donated by the IFCJ with the assistance of the Israeli Friends of MDA, marking another milestone in the long-standing partnership between the Fellowship and MDA, and reflecting their shared commitment to strengthening Israel’s emergency medical service.
