Friends of Nahal Haredi is dedicated to supporting Haredi young men who serve in the Israel Defense Forces. We help Haredi youth who wants to serve in the IDF

Our mission is to ensure that every soldier can serve while maintaining their religious identity.

This week we had the honor of hosting Safwan Mreeh at our offices in Jerusalem.

Safwan heads emergency and security at the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Few people that we know contribute more to the IDF. For the past decade, Safwan has been among our closest partners in reaching hundreds of lone Haredi soldiers across the country.

Yossi Levi was honored to present him with a plaque naming him a Yakir of Haredi Integration in the IDF, along with a Kfir beret and a bracha for the new year.

A Lt. Col. in the reserves and a former combat battalion commander, Safwan put it best during his visit: "All my life I was a fighter. Now I'm combat support."

$75 gives one Haredi soldier a full set — Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur — with your personal letter bound inside the cover. His to keep long after his service.

A Spiritual Journey in Tzfat 🇮🇱

Soldiers of the Netzach Yehuda Battalion, currently stationed along Israel’s northern border, took a break from their operational duties for a meaningful and uplifting “Selichot Tour” through the holy city of Tzfat.

This Shabbat, Rav Shaul had the privilege of spending Shabbat with our reserve battalion, Magen David (Company C), at the Mitzpe Shlagim outpost on Mount Hermon.

Nearly all of the soldiers are Netzah Yehuda alumni from the November 2011 through November 2022 enlistment cycles.

It was an uplifting and meaningful Shabbat filled with inspiration, unity, and joy. The soldiers greatly appreciated the opportunity to come together and strengthen their bond during this special time.

Today we opened our 34th home for lone Haredi soldiers, right in the heart of Jerusalem — part of a network that now gives some 250 lone soldiers a warm place to land across every IDF track and unit.

Most of the guys who'll live here enlisted alone. No community waiting, no one to come home to. So we became that for them.

After weeks on base, the seven soldiers moving in — from Netzah Yehuda, Yoav, Binah BaYarok and Intelligence — will walk through this door and find a hot meal, a place to daven, and brothers who've been exactly where they've been. As Rabbi Tzvi Klebanow put it: the least we owe them in return for their sacrifice is a real home to come back to.

This apartment was donated by David Friedman of Los Angeles, in memory of his parents and father-in-law — Holocaust survivors. From a family that rebuilt from the ashes, a home where the next generation of Am Yisrael's defenders can rest.

34 homes. Hundreds of soldiers who know they're not alone. And we're just getting started. 🇮🇱
