🚔 Vehicle Seized | Curracloe

Gardaí observed the pictured vehicle being driven erratically in Curracloe car park last night, 14/10/26.

On inspection, the vehicle was found to have no valid motor tax or NCT. The vehicle was seized and the driver was issued with fines in relation to their driving.

Car parks are shared spaces used by pedestrians, families and other motorists. Driving dangerously or erratically puts others at risk, regardless of the location.

Gardaí will continue to take action where road traffic offences are detected.

🚦 TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT | WEXFORD FESTIVAL OPERA 🎭

An Garda Síochána advises the public that traffic management measures will be in place in Wexford town for the launch night of Wexford Festival Opera.

⛔ Road Closure
The R730 Wexford Quays will be closed from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, between its junction with R730 Redmond Square and its junction with R733 Lower King Street.

🚗 Parking
Disabled parking will be available at Crescent Car Park. Trinity Street Car Park and public car parks in the surrounding area will remain open.

🚦 Traffic Management
Traffic management will be in place on major routes into and out of Wexford town, including the N25, N11, R730, R769 and R733.

Parking restrictions will apply along both sides of the R741 approaching Wexford Bridge. Barriers will also be in place at various junctions and streets throughout the town centre to prevent vehicular access to the Quay.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys in advance, allow extra time and follow the directions of Gardaí and traffic management personnel.

Thank you for your cooperation as Wexford welcomes visitors for the opening of this year’s festival.

Garda Collette O’Sullivan recently met with the Beavers in Gorey to chat about the work of An Garda Síochána.

The group learned about the role of Gardaí, the different units within the organisation and the importance of road safety. 🚦

It was a great opportunity to learn more about policing, ask questions and discuss how everyone can play their part in keeping their community safe.

From recent checkpoints in Enniscorthy, at which we detected intoxicated drivers, uninsured drivers, unaccompanied learner drivers and also seized illegal drugs.

An Garda Síochána is committed to maintaining a visible presence on Wexford’s roads to detect and deter criminal activity and prevent the road network from being exploited for criminal purposes.

🚔 Speeding, Unaccompanied Driver & Drug Driving Offences | New Ross Bypass

On Thursday, 8th October, Gardaí conducting speed enforcement stopped a vehicle travelling at 117 km/h.

Further checks revealed that the driver was unaccompanied and had no L plates displayed.

An oral fluid test was subsequently conducted, which the driver failed for co***ne.

The driver was arrested. The vehicle was seized.

Investigation is ongoing.

Gardaí carried out a speed and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) checkpoint in Crossabeg this afternoon following recent complaints from the local community.

🚛 Truckception 🚛

Last night, 8 October 2026, Gardaí attached to Enniscorthy Garda Station were conducting a Mandatory Intoxicant Testing (MIT) checkpoint near Clonroche when they encountered the driver of this vehicle.

A roadside breath test was administered, which the driver failed. Further enquiries revealed that the driver was also disqualified from driving.

The vehicle was seized, and the driver was arrested and charged with a number of road traffic offences. They will now face the courts.
