Your own little autumn hideaway. 🍂
Tucked into the woodlands of Mount Congreve, Oak Gate Lodge pairs golden days outdoors with wonderfully cosy evenings in.
Once home to the estate’s gatekeeper, this beautifully restored lodge is a retreat for two, with rich ochre walls, velvet armchairs and a freestanding bath made for long soaks after woodland walks. Even the interiors take their colour cues from autumn.
Pull on your boots and go leaf peeping through 70 acres of gardens and woodland, watching the acers and maples turn scarlet, copper and gold. With after-hours garden access, you can linger a little longer as the day visitors head home.
Then it’s back to your lodge for a warming supper, a bath and an evening curled up together. Slow mornings encouraged.
Make a two-night escape of it, and book directly for complimentary adult bikes to explore the Waterford Greenway, too.

What a wonderful start to ROOTS – Conversations Inspired by Nature at Mount Congreve yesterday, as we welcomed Éanna Ní Lamhna for the first talk in our new Sunday series. 🌱

Éanna’s fascinating talk, The Secret Life of an Irish Garden, offered an insightful look at the remarkable wildlife living in our gardens and the simple ways we can support Ireland’s native biodiversity.

A heartfelt thank you to Éanna for sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with us, and to everyone who joined us and shared such wonderful feedback. It was a lovely morning of learning and discovery.

We look forward to continuing ROOTS with:
