Another nights training last night at the most scenic training location going, thanks to Water Safety Ireland Waterford.

For a bit of fun, as the only saying goes “I could do that blindfolded” but some of our members were put to the test last night.

Our CFRs covered many topics which came up at Respond 2026 as well as the practicalities of attending scene and responding to cardiac arrests.

Well done to all the volunteers for giving up their time to commit to training

Our Community First Responders are on call 24/7.

Over the last number of months we have been using the fantastic new app from the National Ambulance Service, which was developed by local Tramore company Nearform.

This app is used by all the CFRs across the country and has been a phenomenal success since its introduction, leading to quicker and easier responses for our volunteers.
Well done to all at Nearform

Volunteers in attendance today at Respond 2026 to continue our learning and bring as much knowledge as possible to Tramore and the surrounding areas.

Some fascinating statistics including
- last year 336 people across the country were defibrillated by non-EMS responders like our Community first responders helping to save 102 lives.

- A phenomenal increase in bystander CPR from 60 to 85% since 2012

- and 10,000 Community First Responder responses from January to September 2026

All of the above showing how important CFR groups are and why we are so incredibly proud of our volunteer members
