Young lads are setting off fireworks in the area between the school and the community center, most of them are not travelling up very high and a small dog is running loose frightened around the road. Please warn anyone whose dogs may be out or walking close by as the fireworks are quite low ⚠️

Some incredible work done on Saturday after beautiful shrubs and plants were donated by a resident in Greenwood. Lots of litter picking and rubbish collection and a library clean up. If you can spare an hour a fortnight to help us maintain this fabulous work, we would be delighted to see you.

Morning everyone!

Last Monday, we had a fantastic morning in our meadow with 20 young gardeners from Togher Boys’ School, Togher Girls’ School and Cur le Chéile Preschool, who got stuck in and helped us sow yellow rattle seeds.

There were plenty of little hands, lots of seeds… and probably a few seeds that ended up in places we didn't intend! 😄

Yellow rattle is known as the “meadow maker” because it helps suppress grass growth, giving more space for native wildflowers and other meadow species to grow. 🌼🐝🦋

This is another step in our Community Meadow Project, funded through Cork City Council’s Community Climate Action Fund.

At the heart of Togher Tidy Towns is our mission to build a better, more sustainable place for our community to live, and we believe the best way to do that is with our community, not just for our community.

A big thank you to all the children and teachers for getting involved and making it such a fun morning! 💚

Following our previous announcement about our meadow project, the contractor started work today in the area adjacent to Togher Boys’ School and Togher Girls’ School.

The area has been isolated for the work, which should be completed by tomorrow.
