A fantastic afternoon at the Siarsceal Roscommon launch of Unspoken! ✨

Well done to all leaders and particpants of our annual Siarsceal Literary Festival. Over 40 young adults across libraries in Roscommon, Leitrim and Sligo took part in the festival this year, attending sessions on creative writing, poetry, animation and music. This weekend they launched the culmination of their creative work: a wondefrful published collection of their work, 'Unspoken' which will be available for borrowing through local libraries soon. Comhghairdeas do chách!

Here's a little look at some of the amazing young writers sharing their work through live readings.

A special thank you to Sligo County Library, Leitrim County Library and Creative Ireland for all their support.

Please join us next Saturday October 10th at 3pm at Sligo Central Library as we celebrate the launch of Unspoken with our Sligo young writers! 💫

Last night, our CastleReads Book Club gathered to discuss Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express.

It was lovely to hear everyone's thoughts on both the original novel and the graphic novel adaptation, and how seeing the story in two different formats shaped our interpretations of the characters, clues and ending 🔎📖

Our next meeting takes place on Thursday 22nd October at 5:30pm, when we’ll be discussing Did Ye Hear Mammy Died? by Séamas O’Reilly.

New members are always welcome 💚
