Looking forward to leading this 'Walk and Talk' event on next Sunday, 2 August as part of Carlow Garden Festival 2026.
As we explore these themed gardens, I will be sharing very practical tips on how to choose and combine trees, shrubs and perennials to create gardens that are beautiful, resilient, easy maintenance and full of interest throughout the seasons. We will discuss design principles of these inspiring gardens that you can use in your own garden and also talk about everyday gardening such as pruning, propagation and upkeep of plants we encounter along the way.
This is a very relaxed event aimed at all levels of gardening experience and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask your own gardening questions.

MEET MY THERAPIST! Today was an ideal day for trimming our spiral box - dry, overcast and with a bit of a breeze. It's a job I love to do as I find it just so relaxing. My friend here had put on a lot of new growth and was looking a little rotund and shapeless so, out with my topiary shears and after a few hours of artful snipping, he's all handsome again and I'm all zen - the best therapy session after a busy few weeks and it cost nothing...☺
