In a response to a parliamentary question by Aontú leader Deputy Peadar Tòibín the Minister revealed a staggering number of construction errors which require remediation, which include 316 manual sliding doors, 126 of the 244 bathroom pods had drainage issues, 11 of the 22 operating theatre floors required remediation including three which had to be redone for the third time.

It was claimed around 40 per cent of the ventilation system was also found to contain dust because BAM carried out rework in rooms without adequate equipment.

Since the project began, BAM, has addressed 198,500 defects including the remediation of more than 2,000 fire doors.
