What does Version 4 mean for Registered Electrical Contractors?

The revised Electrical Safety Supervisory Criteria Document (Version 4) has been designed to improve clarity and ensure the regulatory framework reflects today's legislation, technical standards and operational practices.

For most Registered Electrical Contractors, the update does not introduce significant changes to how electrical work is carried out.

Instead, Version 4 focuses on:

โœ” Clearer regulatory guidance

โœ” Greater consistency across the Safe Electric Scheme

โœ” Alignment with current legislation and technical standards

โœ” Improved transparency for contractors and stakeholders

These updates support the continued development of the Safe Electric Scheme while maintaining the overall intent of the Criteria Document.
