An operation will take place tomorrow, Tuesday the 13th of October, in the Meath/Westmeath Garda Division targeting those who commit road traffic offences by passing a red light..

We all have a duty of care on the roads and that includes cyclists and e-scooter users..

Pedestrians are also encouraged not to cross at a junction until it is safe to do so..

We know traffic can be heavy in towns such as Athlone and Mullingar, particularly at school times, and we need to be mindful of young children who are travelling to and from school who use pedestrian crossings on their travels..

Thank you to all the teachers and children in the schools visited for such a warm welcome.

The youths will be referred to the juvenile liaision programme and a fee will be imposed if the parents of the youths wish to reclaim these e-scooters

Great news and thank you to all of you who identified the owner. We are in the process of returning the purse to the owner. The power of social media.

We have received a small wallet in from Mullingar. This wallet was found in Cathedral Car Park on 09/09/2026. Contain cash, and memorial cards and a clever slip to go over bank cards to protect them. Does anyone recognise the memorial cards or the wallet. As always your help is gratefully received. Please call 0906421710.
