For over a decade, Frankie has been a cherished resident here at our sanctuary. 💙

After years of careful management for chronic eye conditions, a sudden deterioration prompted advice from an ophthalmologist, and it was decided that removing one of his eyes was the best way to improve his quality of life.

Frankie underwent surgery at our donkey hospital and we're thrilled to share that he's recovered brilliantly. Back with his friends, he's enjoying life, and still first in line for attention from his grooms!

Stories like Frankie's show the difference that expert veterinary care and lifelong sanctuary support can make for donkeys with complex needs.

Thank you for helping us be there for donkeys like Frankie, every step of the way.
