Multi agency checkpoints

Louth RPU were out on the roads before dawn yesterday with Customs and Revenue and Dept of Social Protection carrying out checkpoints across the county

2 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence ( Drink Driving) and 8 vehicles were seized for Tax and insurance offences.

Always be mindful of how much alcohol you consume the night before if you have to get into a vehicle the following morning as you could still be under the influence and placing other road users and yourself in danger

On patrol today, we observed cars parked on footpaths and double yellow lines in moneymore, Drogheda.
Cars parked illegally in this area obstruct and impede the operations of the town bus service. Fixed charge penalty notices were issued in this instance. We ask the public to refrain from parking in this area.

Today we remember our friend and colleague Tony Golden, who lost his life 11 years ago. Tony was murdered while responding to a call in Omeath on 11th October 2015.
Our thoughts are with Tony's family and also with the families of all our fallen colleagues who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting our community.
