You never truly know the battles someone is fighting behind their smile. 🥹💙 Some people are silently carrying pain they struggle to explain, doing their best to get through days that feel heavier than anyone realizes.

That’s why kindness matters. A little patience, a heartfelt conversation, a listening ear, or a simple “How are you, really?” can mean more than we ever know. Sometimes, the smallest act of compassion can remind someone that they are not alone. 🫂🤍

And if life has been especially difficult for you lately, please remember this: you don’t have to be strong every single day. You’re allowed to rest, to ask for help, to take a step back, and to begin again as many times as you need. Healing takes time, and you don’t have to figure everything out all at once. 🌷❤️‍🩹

Your struggles do not define your worth. Your pain deserves to be acknowledged, your feelings deserve to be heard, and your life deserves care, love, and understanding.

So, let’s be gentler with one another—not just today, but every day. We may never fully understand what someone else is going through, but we can always choose to make their world a little less lonely. 💙🕊️

✨ You are enough. You are not a burden. Your story is still unfolding, and the world is better with you in it. Always. 💙

What breaks do I get at work?

All workers are entitled to have breaks while they’re at work.

You have a right to:

✅ A 15-minute break when you have worked more than 4 ½ hours

✅ A 30-minute break when you have worked more than 6 hours, which can include the first 15-minute break

⚠️ The break should not be at the end of the working day.

The school year may already be under way, but there is still time to apply for the 2026 Back-to-School Clothing and Footwear Allowance.

The payment helps eligible families with the cost of clothing and footwear for children attending preschool, primary school and post-primary school.

The 2026 payment rates are:

👕 €160 for each eligible child aged 2–11
👟 €285 for each eligible child aged 12–22 who is in second-level education

The scheme was extended this year to include eligible children aged two and three for the first time.

Many families received the payment automatically. However, if you did not receive an automatic payment, do not assume that you are not eligible.

You may qualify if you receive an eligible social welfare payment or participate in an approved employment, education or training scheme and meet the household income requirements.

Applications close on Wednesday 30 September 2026.

Check your eligibility and apply through MyWelfare:
