With just ten days to go until the entry deadline, we're continuing our countdown to this year's Donegal Enterprise Awards with a look back at last year's finalists.

Our Start Your Own Business Bootcamp takes place in Letterkenny on Friday 13th November, from 9:30am to 4pm at the Enterprise Fund Business Centre, Ballyraine.

This one-day course covers business planning, legal issues, sales, marketing, finance, bookkeeping, taxation, funding, and mindset. €50 includes lunch and a follow-up hour with a trainer to talk through your own idea.

Open to anyone with a business idea, anyone weighing up self-employment, or anyone who's recently started out.

We were delighted to take part in the Business Supports for SMEs in the Cross-Border Region event at the Ebrington Hotel, hosted by Londonderry Chamber as part of the CBPES programme.

Grace Korbel, Acting Head of Enterprise at LEO Donegal, joined speakers from across the North West to outline the supports available to businesses on both sides of the border, before networking with exhibitors including Innovate+ and Invest NI.

Cross-border collaboration is key for businesses across the northwest. Well done to all involved on a great event.

It was great to meet the 2026 Ambition cohort at Harvey's Point. Seventeen female founders across a range of businesses and sectors, spanning everything from wellness, arts, manufacturing and media.

We're excited to kick off the 2026 programme and look forward to following this cohort's journey over the coming months, right through to the showcase in November.

With entries for the Donegal Enterprise Awards 2026 now open, we're looking back at last year's finalists, starting with Niche SSP.

Ciara and Gareth McGlynn took Best Established Business and the Overall Award, then went on to represent Donegal at the National Enterprise Awards Final, where they picked up the Northwest Regional Award; the fourth year running for Donegal.
