Donegal Fire Service were delighted to take part in a live Road Traffic Collision (RTC) demonstration as part of this year's Moville Festival. The demonstration highlighted how the fire service respond to serious road traffic collisions, including use of cutting equipment to free a casualty from a vehicle.

A big thank you to the Moville Festival Committee for the invitation and the Road Safety Authority (RSA) for attending and helping to promote the message of road safety.

Members of Donegal Fire Service, An Garda Síochána Donegal & The RNLI pictured launching this years Amber Thursday campaign, which takes place today, May 28th.

Amber Thursday is a joint initiative to promote fire, road and water safety awareness and to highlight the various risks associated with fire, road and water-based activities over the summer season.
With more people using waterways and partaking in garden and other outdoor activities such as barbecues, in addition to the anticipated increase in people using the roads, the June bank holiday weekend can be a busy time for emergency and rescue services who are called to deal with incidents relating to fire, road or water activities.

We urge the public to be aware of the risks and dangers every time they use a road, go into the water and interact with anything flammable, and to take a minute to make sure what they are doing is safe and responsible.
