This is a once a year opportunity to visit Charles Fort after hours and enjoy the peacefulness and tranquility of this historic monument. Perfect time to snap a view photos 📸 of the spectacular views of Kinsale harbour. You never know with Halloween approaching it might be a good time to catch a glimpse of the infamous 'White Lady'! 👻

📣 Battle of Kinsale 425th Anniversary

This September marks 425 years since Don Juan del Águila and his Spanish force landed at Kinsale in 1601.

Kinsale Cultural & Heritage Society is commemorating the anniversary with two special events:

🔹 Saturday 19 September
A 1601 living-history display at the Short Quay, featuring a historical encampment, military displays and demonstrations throughout the day.

🔹 Saturday 26 September, 10.30am
The Battle of Kinsale Seminar at St Multose Church, with illustrated lectures by Dr Hiram Morgan, Dr James O’Neill, Dr Ruth Canning and Dr Igor Pérez Tostado.

An excellent opportunity to explore the Spanish landing, the Siege of Kinsale and the battle that helped shape Irish history.

Craft Stonemason & Stonecutter in the Mallow National Monuments District at Charles Fort Military Fortress. 👷‍♀️👷🔨⛏️

The Office of Public Works (OPW) invites applications for appointment to the position of Craft Stonemason and Stonecutter in the area covered by the Mallow National Monuments District.
There are currently two permanent positions to be filled, one of which will be based at the National Monuments Sub-Depot, Cashel, Co. Tipperary and the other at the National Monuments Sub-Depot, Charles Fort, Kinsale, Co. Cork.
