🔥 Want to Get Involved with Cailleach by Macnas at Kilkenny’s Toil & Trouble Halloween Festival? 🎃

Macnas is an award-winning, internationally acclaimed spectacle company from Galway, Ireland, who will be travelling to Kilkenny to bring this spectacular new procession to the streets! ✨

Inspired by the true story of Petronilla de Meath and Alice Kyteler, Macnas presents Cailleach, a breathtaking new street spectacle reclaiming the power of the women persecuted in Ireland’s first witch trial in 1324 🧙‍♀️🔥

They are looking for volunteers for a few exciting roles:

☑️ Macnas Volunteers – Torch Carriers

Carry processional flames during the performance. A short training session for this role will be provided in Kilkenny during the week of 12th October 2026.

Lighting Operators: Point portable lights at performers and floats as the procession travels from John Street to Canal Square.

Float Pushers: A more physically demanding role, helping to push the float carrying the large puppet through the procession and helping to bring the magic to life!

Kilkenny Helping The Homeless/Supporting Those In Need Kilkenny is looking for Community Market Fundraising Event Volunteers!

📅 When: Sunday, 18th October
⏰ Time: 7.00am–4.00pm – volunteer for as little or as long as you can!
📍 Where: The Hub at Cillin Hill, Dublin Road, Kilkenny, R95 A4VP

Task Include:
- Welcoming visitors and directing them around the event.
- Assisting with parking.
- Collecting the €2 entrance fee.
- Selling raffle tickets.
- Helping with the charity bucket collection.
- Supporting stallholders if required.
- Assisting with setting up before the event and tidying up afterwards.
- Answering questions and helping ensure the day runs smoothly.

And if you fancy having even more fun, you can wear one of the character costumes and entertain the crowds! 🎭😄
