Last week, we were delighted to mark the significant opening of the Grangegorman Histories 'Beyond the Walls' exhibition with all its contributors and members of the public.
The event was enriched by Lianne O'Hara's evocative readings from her poetry collection 'The Patients All Seemed Happy' alongside wonderful operatic performances by students from TU Dublin Conservatoire of Music.
It was a privilege to support Grangegorman Histories in bringing 'Beyond the Walls' to the public, helping to connect Grangegorman's past with the present. The exhibition highlights the many people, experiences and communities that have contributed to the story of Grangegorman over generations, offering an opportunity to reflect on the history that continues to inform its identity today.
A sincere thank you to everyone who contributed to bringing this exhibition to life, particularly to the Grangegorman Histories Working Group whose vision, committment and dedication were at the heart of the project, and to the talented team at EPIC, whose exhibition design presents these stories with care, insight and respect.
Further talks, tours and events will take place over the coming months, exploring different aspects of Grangegorman’s history and the experiences of the people who lived and worked there.
'Beyond the Walls' is open to the public at the TU Dublin Academic Hub and Library, and will run until May 2027.
