On the International Day of Peace, we reflect on the importance of dialogue, cooperation, and conflict resolution. 🕊️

Today, Ambassador Leena Gardemeister is participating in a Peace Seminar in Monaghan, continuing discussions on building and sustaining peace.

We are also reminded of the enduring legacy of President Martti Ahtisaari, whose contribution to international peace and mediation helped shape Finland's role as a strong advocate for peace.

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting the launch event of the Irish Festival of Oulu 2026 at the Finnish Residence. ☘️🎻🎶

The Irish Festival of Oulu is the world's most norherly Irish cultural festival, bringing together Irish music, dance, storytelling, and cultural traditions. Renowned for its diverse and inclusive programme, the festival is also celebrated for its warm and welcoming Irish atmosphere.

This year marks 20 years since the festival was first founded in 2006. The occasion is made even more special by the festival's inclusion in both the Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture Programme and Ireland's EU Presidency Global Culture Programme. 🇪🇺

A heartfelt thank you to The Irish Festival of Oulu, Comhaltas, and Belfast City of Music for creating such a wonderful launch event. We wish you every success for the festival in Oulu.

And thank you to all the artists who treated us to a fantastic preview of what audiences can look forward to in Oulu this September. 😉

🗓️ The Irish Festival of Oulu 2026 will take place from 23-27 September 2026.
