✨In anticipation of the 26th Week of the Italian Language in the World, the Italian Cultural Institute in Dublin hosted the event “Anche in matematica importano i binari” (a play on words involving the binary system and railway tracks), an opportunity to explore the connection between the Italian language, creativity and mathematical thinking, in connection with this year’s theme: “A Brilliant Language: Conceiving, Designing and Creating in Italian.”

Following the institutional greetings by Director Michela Linda Magri, Professor Guido Ramellini, former teacher at the Italian School of Madrid and founding member of MMACA, took children and their families on a journey to discover the magic of mathematics. Through the language of numbers and the Italian language, Professor Ramellini revealed some of the most surprising aspects of mathematics.

🙏A special thanks goes to Maths Week Ireland for giving us the opportunity to bring mathematics to the Italian Cultural Institute!

30.09.2026, Dublino - European Day of Languages and International Translation Day
