Gaisce - The President's Award Gaisce is Ireland’s national self-development programme for young people between 14-25. Dream big! There are three levels of Gaisce – Bronze, Silver and Gold.

Gaisce – The President’s Award is a self-development programme for young people which enhances confidence and wellbeing through participation in personal, physical and community challenges. Gaisce is a direct challenge from the President of Ireland to young people aged 15-25 to dream big and realise their potential. Gaisce is non-competitive, participants are encouraged to choose their own activities and goals with the support of a trained, adult President’s Award Leader (or PAL). The Gaisce programme is delivered by over 1,500 PALs working and volunteering in a variety of organisations across Ireland. The more time and energy participants give, the greater their reward.

🏔️ They made it!

After days of walking, exploring and learning along the National Famine Way, our Gaisce Gold Participants and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Czech Republic participants DOFE Česká republika have reached their destination! 🎉

Fair play to everyone who took part in this incredible journey. It was brilliant to bring both groups together, share experiences, learn from one another and work towards a common goal.

A journey to remember, new connections made and plenty of memories to take home. 💚

🏅 Celebrating achievement, dedication and the Gaisce journey! 💙

A huge congratulations to the Senior Branch members of MacEgan Senior Branch, Macroom, who were recognised at Saturday’s IGG National Guiding Awards Ceremony! ✨

It was wonderful to celebrate their achievements, with members receiving their Bronze and Silver Gaisce Awards through our Dual Award programme. 🙌

Through Gaisce, young people take on new challenges, develop skills, give back to their communities and discover what they’re capable of, all while doing something meaningful to them.

Well done to everyone involved, and a special shoutout to the members and Leaders pictured for their hard work and commitment! 💙

Where youth voices and real impact come together. 🤝🌍

We recently had the chance to catch up with our Gaisce Youth Ambassador, Katie Ní Chróinín, as she headed to the EU Youth Conference in Dublin.

With podcasts, journalism, report writing and representing Gaisce on the Youth Advisory Group, Katie has been actively involved in the conference, shining a light on youth voices and how this can shape policymaking at an EU level.

Well done Katie, you are making us all very proud! 👏

Want to be like Katie and kickstart your Gaisce Youth Ambassador journey?

Applications for our 2027 Youth Ambassador will open very soon. Keep an eye on our social media for more details. 👀

🎬 A special evening in Tralee.

We recently had the privilege of attending the premiere of Ciarán – A PAL's Voice - a short film celebrating the remarkable Gaisce journey of Ciarán Sears. 💙

A Bronze, Silver and Gold Gaisce Awardee, Ciarán has continued his journey as a President's Award Leader (PAL), supporting other young people as they begin their own Gaisce experience. The film explores themes of confidence, independence, inclusion and the power of believing in yourself.

Developed by Kerry ETB's Local Creative Youth Partnership in partnership with Inspired Day Service, the project gave participants the opportunity to share their stories through film and showcase the impact that Gaisce can have on young people's lives.

Congratulations to Ciarán and everyone involved in bringing this inspiring story to life. We can't wait for more people to see it. ✨
