What a day we've had for today's Big Weekend events! We had an amazing turnout for all Round Room events in The Mansion House - every seat was filled despite the wet start to the day. Thank you to everyone who joined us to kick off this year's festival. Pick up a programme in all Dublin City Coucil Libraries branches and 14 Henrietta Street to find out what other events we have in store for you over the next two weeks.

Sara Lodge will deliver our John T. Gilbert Commemorative Lecture: Rosa Mulholland (1841 - 1921): Women, Ireland and the Art of Change in The Oak Room at The Mansion House.

Rosa Mulholland, wife of historian Sir John T. Gilbert, was one of Ireland's most prominent and influential Victorian writers. Mulholland was the author of over 40 works of fiction, several poetry collections and made frequent contributions to periodicals. She shaped how Ireland was seen at that time, especially by female readers, and her work gave women a sense of how they might re-shape the country through contributing to culture, industry and society.
