The 2026 Recruit Prison Officer Competition closes on 8 October, so thereā€™s still time to take the next step towards a career that makes a real difference.

Last Tuesday, we welcomed prospective applicants to our publicjobs offices for an information session about the Recruit Prison Officer role. We were delighted to see such a great turnout.

Attendees had the opportunity to meet serving Prison Officers, ask questions and get first-hand insight into the role, the requirements and what itā€™s really like to work with the Irish Prison Service .
