Origins Foster Care Service Foster Care WE GET IT. Origins Foster Care is an Independent, Nationwide Foster Care agency.

We are a nationwide Irish Foster Care Provider set up by qualified local people with years of training and expertise. We provide real, easily readily accessible and practical support to our foster carers, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We provide a high level of training, based on the most up-to-date research in child development, attachment and trauma. At Origins we recognise the invaluable role played by our foster carers in sharing their lives with the children in their care. We ensure that our foster carers are fully trained and provided with real and practical supports at every step.

Our October page comes from another one of the talented young artists who took part in our annual calendar project, and we think it captures the season beautifully. The glowing pumpkins and ghosts are getting us ready for Halloween.

Foster carers open their homes and hearts 24/7, often without security or recognition. Today we have written to the Government outlining the supports needed this year.

Ahead of , Origins Foster Care is calling for:
✅ Funding for independent support for foster carers
✅ Fostering years counted towards State Pension & PRSI
✅ No means test on Back to School Allowance for children in care
✅ Aftercare payments aligned with the Foster Care Allowance until 23
✅ An index-linked Foster Care Allowance
