On a day where 300,000 public sector workers are striking for a decent pay, our Taoiseach Micheál Martin is addressing an international AI summit that Ireland is hosting.

AI has caused consumer products to skyrocket in price, has put a massive strain on our energy grid, it steals art from artists, it’s bad for the environment, and will replace countless workers without proper regulation.

How out of touch can our government be?

We stand in full solidarity with everyone striking for a better quality of life, and a fairer future.

Charging more for student fees is appalling during this cost of living crisis, spinning it as a reduction for two years in a row is just a slap in the face.

We’ve been calling for student fees to be reduced every year until they hit zero, something this government has said it’s committed to. But based on these last two years, they’re failing pretty badly.

We’ve seen student fees go up by €500, the cost of food is up, the cost of accommodation is up, if you can find any. Stu...

We’ve seen student fees go up by €500, the cost of food is up, the cost of accommodation is up, if you can find any. Students are forced to commute and now we’re being punished with increased transport fares. That’s not fair!

We’ll be protesting with political parties, unions, and environmental organisations at Leinster House to say NO! to the transport rip off.

Join us afterwards in O’Neills to discuss the next plan of action to stop these changes going ahead. Food provided! More speakers to be announced.

There’s a weather warning for high temperatures this week, the sun is shining bright and people are out enjoying the nice weather after weeks of rain and clouds. But in this weather we need to be protecting our skin with sun cream, it is an essential product to prevent skin cancer and to allow us to get about our day.

It is not right that this essential product has the highest rate of VAT applied to it. We need sun cream to be made more accessible and affordable, we also call for free sun cream dispensers to be installed in public parks.

We can’t allow horrific and tragic incidents to continue to be used as an excuse by the far right and bad actors to cause violence and destruction in our cities, we’ve seen it in Dublin, we’ve seen it in Liverpool, and we’ve seen it across the past three years in Belfast.

Communities shouldn’t have to live in fear of violence because of events or attacks that have nothing to do with them.

We’re thinking today of those in Belfast who don’t feel safe to go outside right now, who are worried their house might be the target of the next arson attack, and who are facing racist abuse.

We echo the calls by _ie and that this must be the last summer of racist pogroms in Belfast.

8 years on from the day Ireland voted for Repeal and we still remember the buzz and the excitement, and the relief. It was a long and hard fought campaign against intimidation, misinformation, and funding from the US, and it wasn’t the end of the fight.

We are so proud of the Green Party for taking part in that fight, and not stopping there. We are proud of the party for prioritising free access to contraception for women and delivering safe access zones on the southern and northern sides of the border with , and for voting in support of legislation to amend the reproductive rights bill further.

Today we celebrate 8 years of Repeal, and prepare for what comes next.

Funny how much can change in just one month? The Socdems have completely changed their tune on the Critical Infrastructure Bill and the damaging impact it will have on our climate. Here are some of them speaking out against this bill last month, before voting it through today. This bill will allow Jack Chambers to bypass the Climate Act whenever he wants, and shows a serious lack of support to our climate and our environment.

Hate does not speak for us ♥️

We would like to extend our solidarity with Senator Eileen Flynn, who has recently been the target of a harassment campaign by far-right online abusers. Flynn, who made history as Ireland's first parliamentarian from a Traveller background, had pointed out the presence of known far-right activists at recent fuel protests.

These online abusers do not speak for us, and rely on sockpuppet accounts based in America to boost their hate campaigns. We extend our support and solidarity with Senator Flynn and the just and equitable Ireland she stands for ✊

‼️With the government throwing Ireland's climate obligations under the bus, there has never been a more important time to say the energy crisis is the climate crisis ‼️

Green leader Roderic O'Gorman is calling on the Dáil to support his Earth Day motion to safeguard the climate, restore nature, and protect households from fuel shocks.

We'll be joining forces on Wednesday 22nd April at 5:30pm outside Leinster House to demand action. Will you join us?
