๐ŸŽƒ Halloween Safety Reminder from DLRCC ๐Ÿ”ฅ

As Halloween approaches, our Environmental Enforcement Wardens, Cleansing, and Parks teams are working closely with An Garda Sรญochรกna to prevent illegal bonfires across the county.

Weโ€™re asking businesses and retailers to help us keep our communities safe by securing items like:
๐Ÿ›ž Waste tyres
๐Ÿชต Pallets
๐Ÿ›’ Trollies
๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Bins & cages

These materials must not end up on bonfires. Under Section 32 of the Waste Management Act, 1996, improper handling of waste can lead to fines or prosecution.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Courtesy visits will be made to premises in the coming weeks.
๐Ÿ“ž For advice on safe storage, contact our Environmental Enforcement Section.

Letโ€™s work together to ensure a safe and respectful Halloween for all.

๐ŸŒณ Smart technology is helping shape the future of tree management in Dรบn Laoghaire-Rathdown.

dlr has become the first local authority in Ireland to use AI and LiDAR technology to create a detailed digital twin of its street tree network. This September, approximately 20,000 street trees will be surveyed across the county, with around 10,000 trees assessed in each half of the county.

Using advanced technology, the project will capture more than 70 data points for every tree, creating a digital twin that will provide valuable insights into tree health, structure and resilience. The data will help support smarter urban forest management, guide future tree planting and maintenance, strengthen climate resilience and protect one of dlr's most important natural assets for generations to come.
