Major tournaments, growing golf circuits and new tourism ventures are putting Africa’s fairways in play for a much bigger market. From South Africa and Kenya to Rwanda, Morocco and Uganda, golf is increasingly being packaged as a gateway to high-value tourism, business and investment.
Africa is moving to turn its growing golf industry into a bigger tourism and investment business, with countries using major tournaments, golf resorts and regional circuits to attract affluent travellers and corporate spending.

A little piece of South Africa is making a very big impression in Scotland, where the Ndlovu Youth Choir is earning rave reviews and leaving audiences deeply moved.

South Africa is currently taking centre stage at the biggest arts festival on the planet and the people lucky enough to be sitting in the audience cannot stop talking about what they are seeing.

The Ndlovu Youth Choir made its Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut this August, bringing the unmistakable energy of South Africa to Scotland… and judging by the reviews pouring in, they are absolutely smashing it.

Casandra Alexander captured her second Ladies European Tour (LET) title at the 2026 KPMG Women’s Irish Open producing a wire-to-wire performance at The K Club to add her name to the famous trophy.
After a nervy start on Sunday in Ireland, the South African fired a final round 70 (-2) on the Palmer South Course to keep the chasing pack at bay and secure a three-shot victory on 20-under par.
The win is Alexander’s first in 2026 on the LET following five runner-up finishes this season.

University of Pretoria’s Dr Hafsa Essop has been honoured for transforming complex radiation research into real-world policies that protect pregnant workers and ensure it does not remain confined to academic publications.
Too often, scientific research and studies meant to improve everyday lives stay trapped inside academic journals instead of reaching the communities they were built to serve.
Dr Essop is working to change that, making science accessible to wider audiences and advancing conversations around radiation protection, particularly the protection of pregnant radiation workers.

Dr Hafsa Essop has been honoured in the 2026 South African Women in Science Awards (SAWiSA) of her advocacy in radiation protection.
