🎃🔥 Stay Safe This Halloween 👻

Halloween is all about spooky fun — but fire safety shouldn’t be frightening!

Here are a few simple ways to help keep your home, workplace and loved ones safe this Halloween:

🕯️ Be careful with candles – Keep candles well away from costumes, curtains and decorations, and never leave them unattended.

🎃 Keep decorations away from heat – Make sure Halloween decorations aren’t blocking heaters, lights, electrical equipment or escape routes.

🍳 Stay alert in the kitchen – Never leave cooking unattended, especially when you’re busy entertaining.

🧯 Know your extinguisher – Make sure you have the correct type of extinguisher for the potential fire risk and know where it is located.

🚪 Keep escape routes clear – In an emergency, you don’t want spooky decorations becoming an obstacle.

🚨 Check your alarms – Make sure your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are working properly.

👻🎃 The office is getting spooky… but there’s nothing scary about being prepared!
Our spooky-season assistant is already hard at work getting ready for Safety Week 2026 - although, to be fair, he’s had plenty of time to perfect his fire safety knowledge. 💀😂
This year’s theme is all about knowing your surroundings and the people in them:
🔥 Know the room - Know your exits, alarm points, fire equipment and evacuation routes.
⚠️ Know the risk - Understand what could cause harm and what controls are in place to reduce that risk.
👥 Know the person - Consider the people who may need additional support in an emergency.
Because when an emergency happens, you don’t want to be figuring things out for the first time.
So while we’re embracing the spooky season 👻, we’re also getting ready to help make Safety Week 2026 one to remember.
