Donegal Domestic Violence Services - DDVS Donegal Domestic Violence Services provides 24 hr crisis Support and information for women and their children who are experiencing domestic abuse.

Donegal Domestic Violence Services supports women and children living in Donegal who have experienced / are experiencing Domestic Violence as they journey from recovery to self-reliance and independent living. You can phone the 24 hour helpline 1800 262677 or message / Whats App 087 3812438 and talk with a trained worker who understands that you need to make choices at your own pace, and who will support and encourage you to do this.

We can provide referrals to appropriate outside agencies, organisations and community services, helping clients to connect with the right support for their individual circumstances.

This may include referrals for:

🤝 Specialist support services
🏠 Housing and accommodation support
💶 Social welfare and financial assistance
⚖️ Legal and advocacy services
🩺 Health and wellbeing supports
📚 Education, training and employment services
🌱 Community activities and other local supports

Where appropriate, we can help you understand the options available and support you in accessing a service that is best placed to meet your needs.

💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜

This October, we’re raising awareness of domestic abuse and reminding women and families across Donegal that support is available. Donegal Domestic Violence Services provides a 24-hour helpline, emergency refuge accommodation and outreach support for women and children throughout County Donegal.

Domestic abuse is the intentional and persistent physical or emotional abuse of a woman, and her children, in a way that causes pain, distress or injury. Abuse can take many forms, including:

💜 Coercive control, patterns of intimidation, degradation, isolation and control
💜 Psychological and emotional abuse
💜 Physical or sexual abuse
💜 Financial or economic abuse
💜 Harassment and stalking
💜 Online or digital abuse

Domestic abuse is not always visible. Knowing the signs and knowing where to turn for support can make a difference.
