A unique and versatile blend of jazz, classical and contemporary, his incredible music drew curious listeners from every corner of the library.

Cork City Libraries are delighted to announce the return of the Pat Egan Prize. Last year's competition showcased the imagination, creativity, and talent of young writers from across Cork City, and we are excited to once again invite submissions and celebrate young writing in our city.

We are looking for original works in poetry, short fiction (max 2500 words) or graphic novels from children aged 7-9 and 10-12.

Great prizes for winners, plus the chance for entrants to be featured in a magazine that we will publish in January.

Completed works can be submitted to your local library or by email to [email protected]
Please include name, age and contact details with each entry

Closing date for entry is 30/11/2026. Please ask your local library for more information.
