A huge 'Thank You!' to our wonderful SNA, Lynette on SNA Appreciation Day! A special lunch and a handmade card signed by all the pupils was our way of saying 'thank you Lynette' for all the little things (as well as the big!) that you do for us!

What are Wednesdays & Thursdays made for?
How about a little 'Wellbeing Wednesday' slot?🌸 Every Wednesday afternoon, we all come together for 20 minutes of wellbeing. πŸ˜ƒThese activities are part of our endeavours towards gaining our Amber Flag for Mindfulness & Wellbeing!🌻

Also, on Wednesday morning the Senior children sent a special invitation to the Junior children to join them on a 'BUG HUNT'πŸžπŸ›πŸͺ² The children had a look at some pictures of minibeasts beforehand and we came up with a list of ones we were likely to find in our locality and how to identify them.πŸ›πŸžπŸͺ²

Today, armed with their magnifying glasses the 'HUNT' began! πŸ”Ž Many creatures were found, tallied and classified! And not a squeamish child in sight! 🀒(The same can't be said about the adults involved! Let's just say the pupils learned the word 'Arachnophobia' & who it applies to!!! You know who you are!!!)πŸ•·πŸ•ΈπŸ•·

What are Tuesdays made for? Football! 🏐 Football! πŸ€ Football ⚽️ - exercise, fresh air, time spent together & expertise from our coach, Russell! And a lovely family atmosphere with the Senior and Junior kids mixing for skills practice before dividing up for their individual matches!πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒ

1st & 2nd class took some time out to present to the Senior classes about their Family Trees 🌳 - very interesting and lovely to see some faces we recognised in there! πŸ™‚

The Senior Classes took advantage of the dry weather 🌞 to complete a measuring challenge outdoors!!! Ms. Roulston joined us for team teaching for this activity! The children had to measure πŸ“πŸ“ out a route of 50 metres around the playground and then draw it to scale! A set of bonus challenge questions followed! Nothing like a bit of hands on learning, in the great outdoors, 🌳🌸🌻on a Tuesday afternoon!

Here's what Mondays are made for? A little bit of dance, wellbeing & movement for the Juniors, with the fabulous Eibhlin from Rinka! Then a little drama 🎭 with Ms. Maguire, where the laughter flowed! 🀣Postman Pat made an appearance with a very special delivery.....our caterpillars. πŸ¦‹ Our observation diaries were opened and we can't wait to watch the transformation from caterpillars to butterflies! 😍 Such good weather 🌞called for use of our outdoor classroom, where Mrs. Long set the Senior children some measuring challenges! πŸ“πŸ“Nothing beats hands-on learning and happy kids! Learning based on real life experiences!🏫

A few snaps from from our recent 8 week block of French lessons! A huge thank you to our French tutor, Kenneth who brought a real flavour of France to our classroom! We certainly have a few budding French speakers & these lessons give the kids a great head start for studying French at post-primary school!
