🚒 Donegal Firefighters Association Annual Charity Bucket Collection 🚒

Carndonagh Fire Station will be taking part in the annual countywide charity bucket collection this Saturday, 1st August, organised by the Donegal Firefighters Association.

All money collected locally by Carndonagh Fire Station will be donated directly to the Foyle Hospice. Fire stations throughout Donegal will also be raising funds for Donegal Hospice and North West Hospice.

Over the past number of years, firefighters across the county have typically raised and donated approximately €40,000 each year to these three hospices. This is only possible because of the continued generosity of the communities we serve.

Every donation, large or small, will help these hospices continue providing vital care and support to patients and their families.

Your support this Saturday would be greatly appreciated.

Please share this post and help us spread the word.

Permit granted.

Last Thursday evening, crews from Carndonagh Fire Service responded to a large gorse fire in the Clonmany area. Working alongside crews from neighbouring stations, including all Inishowen-based units, we remained on scene throughout the night & into the next day bringing the fire under control.
Additional Donegal stations were placed on standby and provided support for the duration of the call & afterwards too.

We want to take a moment to acknowledge the exceptional support shown by the local community.

Thank you to the local hotels who provided breakfast for firefighters after a long night on the ground 🙏

Also, a huge thank you to the local restaurants and shops for their generous offers of food and supplies too🙌

And in particular, thank you to the local families who opened up their homes in the middle of the night, offering tea, coffee, food, and a place to sit for a short break. That level of support does not go unnoticed and was very much appreciated 🙏

The sense of community spirit on the night was clear, and it is genuinely appreciated by all crews involved 👏
