Ballyshannon Fire Service DL17

Firefighter Thomas Gallagher celebrated his birthday over the weekend so we couldn’t let the occasion pass without our own celebration at the fire station. This event was overseen by our party coordinator Kenny (pictured presenting the cake)who may have to revisit his positioning of the candles 😉.
Happy birthday Thomas🎂🎂

Massive thanks to everyone who donated to our recent annual Hospice collection. All Fire stations in the county take part in this event every year to raise much needed funds for this great service. The money is then pooled together and distributed between the three Hospices that provide their services to county Donegal. All funds raised go directly to the Hospice. As always you have been very generous and the total collected in Ballyshannon this year was €6220. Thanks to Donegal Fire Service management for the use of the appliances and to our crews for giving their time support this great cause.
Thanks again for your generosity and support and we will do it all again next year.

🪣 🧼Our Annual Hospice Fundraiser returns this Saturday 1st August 2026 at Fire Stations throughout County Donegal.💦🧽

Due to the current hose pipe restrictions, we will not be washing vehicles at any Fire Station, but your local Fire Crew will be out with a bucket collection.
As usual, all proceeds donated goes directly to the Hospice in your area, The Donegal Hospice, The North West Hospice and The Foyle Hospice.

🔥👨‍🚒If you are out and about this Saturday, please stop by your local Station and support🚒⚒️

Permit Granted.

We often see this when dealing with road based incidents, this puts unnecessary risk to all crews that are working at these incidents, so please keep your phone away and keep your concentration on the road.

It's natural to want to see what's going on in an emergency situation, but please put the camera away 📵

If you witness a medical emergency or accident, respect the privacy of both patients and staff and don't take any photos or recordings.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from Ballyshannon Fire Service! 🍀🚒

Wishing everyone in our community a safe and enjoyable St. Patrick’s Day. Whether you’re celebrating with family, friends, or out at the parade, please look out for one another and stay safe.

Our crew is always on call if needed, but we hope today is a quiet one for the station.

Enjoy the celebrations and have a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day! 🇮🇪🍀

Wishing everyone a safe and peaceful 2026. With our first turnout of the year attended this morning we would like to remind everyone to have their chimneys cleaned regularly and to check both your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms weekly as this action can give you an early warning of the presence of smoke or CO in your house so that early action can be taken. Never delay calling the fire service. We are also engaged in a community fire safety program so if you know of anyone, maybe elderly or living alone, who you think would benefit from a fire safety visit from ourselves you can make contact with any of the crew and we would be happy to assist.
Again wishing everyone health and happiness for the coming year.

Ballyshannon Fire Crew.
