UPDATE… this event is now BOOKED OUT folks!
Next Saturday 19th September...
Join us for a traditional gathering under Mayo's dark skies with moon watching, music, story and folklore of the supernatural kind!
To mark the approaching Autumn Equinox with the darker nights closing in and to celebrate International Observe the Moon Night, we have very special gathering planned ...Tionól san Fhiáin.. a Gathering in the Wild in Mayo Dark Sky Park at Wild Nephin National Park.
Have you a song, story or tune to share? Or do you simply enjoy listening? Either way, come and join traditional singer and Wilderland Bursary recipient, Elizabeth Healy. Elizabeth will lead the session with musician John Hoban and storyteller Dan O’Donoghue, for an evening of songs, stories and tunes......with a supernatural theme!
In this evocative setting, we will explore the rich well of folklore and supernatural tradition that forms such an important part of our cultural heritage.
We will meet at 7.30pm at Brogan Carroll Bothy and take a 'dark sky walk' for 750metres to the cottage venue. If conditions allow we will take a moment to stargaze and Observe the Moon as part of an international citizen science event.
