Welcome news that the N52 Ardee Bypass is going ahead! 🚧

Louth County Council will work with Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) to recommence the project and progress this much-needed infrastructure for the town of Ardee.

This is a hugely positive development for Ardee, its people and local traders. The bypass has the potential to make a real difference to the town by easing traffic congestion, improving road safety and creating opportunities for the future development of Ardee.

This announcement is also a moment to recognise all those who have worked, campaigned and pushed for this project to progress over many years. Their continued efforts and commitment to securing this vital infrastructure for Ardee deserve recognition.

A very welcome step forward for Ardee and the wider area, and I look forward to seeing this project progress.

πŸ’‘ Ardee Roundabout Lighting

At last month’s Ardee Municipal District meeting, I raised the issue of the lighting at the Ardee Roundabout on the N2 northbound approach into Ardee, following a lighting column being knocked down and the area being left dark at night.

I have now received confirmation that replacing the existing 20m lighting mast is not feasible.

As an alternative, the Council will be installing five new 10m lighting columns around the outside of the roundabout to restore lighting in the area.

Especially with the darker evenings now upon us, this is a welcome update, and I’ll continue to follow up to ensure the works are progressed.

🚧 Traffic Management Update – Ravel Grange / Ardee Road, Dunleer

A traffic management update has been issued in relation to the ongoing works at Ravel Grange and the R170 Ardee Road in Dunleer.

As part of the works associated with the new housing development:

🚦 Traffic on the R170 is currently reduced to one lane, with a 3-way traffic light system in operation during working hours, Monday to Friday.

πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ Temporary pedestrian arrangements are in place, with a pedestrian marshal available during working hours.

⚠️ Please note: There is currently no pedestrian access to or from the Ardee Road via the route being used by vehicles exiting Ravel Grange.

πŸš— The temporary traffic lights will be removed at weekends, allowing two-way traffic to resume.

The works are facilitating the installation of new footpaths and services as part of the ongoing development.

Please be aware of the temporary arrangements when travelling through the area, allow extra time for your journey and follow the traffic management measures in place.

The attached plans show the location and temporary traffic management arrangements.

Delighted to have attended the official opening of Peregrine House, Ardee & District Cancer Support.

What an incredible achievement by the many volunteers who have worked tirelessly to get to this point. This wonderful house will provide invaluable support to people in our community and their families following a cancer diagnosis.

It has been a huge community effort to get Peregrine House to where it is today β€” from the dedicated committee who have driven the project forward, to the generous donations from community groups, businesses, anonymous donors and so many individuals who have contributed in ways both big and small.

A fantastic example of what can be achieved when a community comes together. πŸ’š

Wishing everyone involved every success as Peregrine House begins this important new chapter in supporting people across Ardee and the surrounding areas.
