Sri Ramana Maharshi

Ramana Maharishi, also known as Sri Ramana Maharshi, was a Hindu spiritual teacher and guru who lived in India in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He is considered one of the most important spiritual figures in the history of modern India and is revered by many as a realized master.

Ramana Maharishi was born in 1879 in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and was known for his deep spiritual insights and understanding of the nature of the self. He was a proponent of the non-dualistic philosophy of Advaita Vedanta, which teaches that the individual self and the universal self are one and the same.

Ramana Maharishi was known for his simple and unassuming nature and his ability to transmit his spiritual insights to others through his presence and his teachings. He spent much of his later years at the Arunachala Ashrama in Tiruvannamalai, where he attracted a large following of devotees from around the world. He died in 1950 at the age of 70.
