She stated, โ€œAs we commemorate 128 years of Philippine independence, we remind ourselves that freedom is not merely a historical monument we glance at every June 12, but a continuing responsibility for us who inherited the Filipino nation. The future of Philippine-Indonesian relations remains bright, steady, and strong, and we are honored to contribute to the continued growth of this enduring friendship.โ€

That evening, Consul General Dingal officially launched her passion project entitled Very Different, Yet So Similar: Stories of the Philippines and Indonesia Across the Celebes Sea, which she described as a โ€œlabor of love, drawn from our collective experiences not just of working, but of living in this wonderful part of Indonesia.โ€ The commemorative coffee table book highlights the shared histories, cultural affinities, and enduring people-to-people ties that connect communities across the Celebes Sea and continue to strengthen relations between the Philippines and Indonesia.

The Diplomatic Reception served as a testament to the enduring and prosperous friendship between the Philippines and Indonesia, a partnership that continues to flourish across the seas that connect our Nations.END
