KAINANTU SECONDARY SCHOOL IN EASTERN HIGHLANDS PROVINCE RECEIVES CUSTOMARY LAND BOOKLETS FROM ACT NOW!
ACT NOW! has selected 63 secondary schools and teaching institutions across Papua New Guinea to receive educational materials that deepen understanding of customary land and support teachers in developing inclusive teaching guides.
These booklets include:
Kastom, Property and Ideology
Land and Livelihoods in PNG
From Extraction to Inclusion
These books offer invaluable insights into the importance of customary land and sustainable livelihoods in PNG.
Customary land is the most valuable and important asset to Papua New Guineans, but its critical role is often misunderstood or misrepresented.
By equipping students and teachers with this knowledge, we are investing in a generation of informed and empowered future leaders of PNG. These leaders will not only understand the value and importance of customary land, but will stand up, speak out, defend it, protect it, and celebrate it as the foundation of a just, inclusive, and sustainable future for our country.
School Principal and some students from Kainantu Secondary School, Eastern Highlands Province display one of the book copies received.
