In late April 2026, Jakarta Investment Centre (JIC) welcomed the All-China Environmental Federation (ACEF) delegation to explore strategic investments in sustainable infrastructure projects across the city.

The meeting connected Jakarta’s regional-owned enterprises (PalJaya, MITJ, and JakPro) alongside government agencies and Chinese companies to discuss potential collaborations in Jakarta’s transportation, Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), and wastewater management sector.

This strategic engagement highlights Jakarta’s commitment to fostering sustainable growth, attracting impactful foreign investment, and strengthening global partnerships for a greener future.

In early April, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through JIC hosted a visit from the Bangsamoro Board of Investment (BBOI-BARMM) led by Mr. Mohamad Omar Pasigan, an autonomous region in southern Philippines with a population of 4.94 million. The delegation also visited JIC’s office to explore Jakarta’s investment opportunities, policy framework, and permitting mechanisms. The delegation visiting JIC was led by the Philippine Embassy. During their visit, they also engaged with representatives from Board for Regional Development Planning (Bappeda) and UP Jakarta Smart City (JSC) to learn about smart city implementation and urban development strategies. The visit also included a tour of a halal culinary industry center to understand best practices in halal food production and entrepreneurship.

The visit aimed to foster collaboration between Jakarta and BARMM, positioning both regions for potential investment partnerships and knowledge exchange. The visit reinforced JIC’s commitment to supporting regional collaboration and cross-border investment opportunities.

Based on fourth-quarter data released by BKPM, Indonesia’s investment realization reached IDR 496.9 trillion, comprising IDR 256.3 trillion in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and IDR 240.6 trillion in Domestic Direct Investment (DDI). This marks a 9.7% year-on-year increase, signaling sustained investor confidence despite ongoing global uncertainties in Indonesia’s economic fundamentals and the effectiveness of government policies.

Total investment realization in 2025 amounted to IDR 1,931.2 trillion, which achieved 101.3% of the national target and recorded an annual growth of 12.7%. As stated by the Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry/BKPM, this milestone is particularly noteworthy amid global economic slowdown, geopolitical tensions, and trade fragmentation throughout the year.

Overall, Indonesia’s investment performance in 2025 underscores strong economic fundamentals, consistent policy direction, and sustained investor trust. Balanced contributions from both FDI and DDI, alongside stable regional and sectoral distribution, provide a solid foundation to support continued economic growth, job creation, and long-term national development objectives.
