A beautiful day at Yellow Valley, the Carstensz Pyramid's base camp. A helicopter ride from the town of Timika to Yellow Valley takes approximately 20 minutes. Located at 4200 m asl, the Yellow Valley is where climbers will acclimatise before climbing to the summit of Carstensz Pyramid.

to the time when one of our climbing guides Poxi successfully reached his 100th Carstensz Pyramid summits, broke his own record for the most Carstensz Pyramid summits.

Part of the Seven Summit Challenge in mountaineering, Carstensz Pyramid or Puncak Jaya is the highest mountain peak on the continent of Oceania, stands tall at 4,884m asl. Carstensz Pyramid is located in Sudirman range, in the province of Papua.

Back then, crossing the 15 meters wide and 20 meters deep gap to reach the top of Carstensz Pyramid was hard. In 2015, to make climbers cross easily, the three-point wire bridge (also known as Burma Bridge) was installed. Now, climbers can easily cross the bridge for only 1-3 minutes.

Poxi now holds the record for reaching the summit of Carstensz Pyramid, the highest peak of the Oceania continent, more than any other person. We are all proud of you, Poxi! Bravo!!
