Dinas Registrasi Kependudukan Aceh (DRKA) dibentuk pada tanggal 5 Maret Tahun 2012 bagian dari amanah Undang-Undang Pererintah Aceh (UUPA). Dengan Aturan QANUN ACEH NOMOR 8 TAHUN 2010 TENTANG SUSUNAN ORGANISASI DAN TATA KERJA DINAS REGISTRASI KEPENDUDUKAN ACEH (DRKA). Diperkuat dengan aturan:
