🎬 Le 28 août, l’ambassade des États-Unis à Port-au-Prince a organisé une projection en présentiel du film « Young Washington » dans le cadre des célébrations de Freedom250.

Des étudiants haïtiens et des membres de la communauté ont ainsi pu découvrir l’histoire du jeune George Washington et réfléchir aux notions de leadership, de responsabilité civique et aux défis liés à la mise en place d’institutions démocratiques.

Cette projection a également donné lieu à des discussions approfondies sur les parcours respectifs des États-Unis et d’Haïti, soulignant l’importance du dialogue, de l’État de droit, d’institutions solides et de l’unité nationale.

Nous remercions tous les participants qui se sont joints à nous et ont partagé leurs points de vue. Restez branchés, car nous partagerons certaines de ces réflexions dans les jours à venir ! 🇺🇸🇭🇹

🎬 On August 28, U.S. Embassy Port-au-Prince hosted an in-person screening of Young Washington as part of the Freedom 250 celebrations.

Haitian students and community members explored the story of a young George Washington and reflected on leadership, civic responsibility, and the challenges of building democratic institutions.

The screening also sparked thoughtful discussions about the journeys of the United States and Haiti, highlighting the importance of dialogue, the rule of law, strong institutions, and national unity.

We thank all the participants who joined us and shared their perspectives. Stay tuned as we share some of these insights over the coming days! 🇺🇸🇭🇹

Cette semaine, nous mettons à l'honneur Lisa Jude, agronome, entrepreneure, éducatrice et professionnelle des opérations d'entreprise haïtienne, ancienne participante de deux programmes d'échange du gouvernement américain : l'Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE), au sein de la première cohorte haïtienne en 2019, et le Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI), promotion 2021.

Lisa est la fondatrice de Regal, une entreprise mettant en valeur la gastronomie haïtienne, la culture haïtienne et le commerce, et de Regia, une structure aidant les organisations à construire l'infrastructure opérationnelle dont elles ont besoin pour croître et prospérer.
Entrepreneuse depuis 2017, elle a construit son parcours par l'expérimentation et la détermination, alliant sa formation technique en agronomie aux fondamentaux commerciaux acquis grâce à AWE et à l'approche stratégique et systémique du leadership développée grâce à YLAI.

Lisa termine actuellement un Master en Management et Développement des Affaires à l'Université de Montpellier, renforçant davantage l'expertise qu'elle apporte aux entrepreneurs et entreprises haïtiennes. Le parcours de Lisa incarne une vérité essentielle pour l'avenir d'Haïti : ce sont les Haïtiens eux-mêmes qui doivent écrire leur propre avenir. En transformant ses connaissances en pratique et en utilisant son expérience pour aider d'autres entreprises à devenir plus structurées et durables, Lisa contribue à bâtir les fondations économiques d'un Haïti façonné par les Haïtiens, pour les Haïtiens.

This week, we are highlighting Lisa Jude, a Haitian agronomist, entrepreneur, educator, and business operations professional, and an alumna of two U.S. government exchange programs: the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) 2019, and the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI), class of 2021.

Lisa is the founder of Regal, a venture celebrating Haitian food, culture & commerce and of Regia, which helps organizations build the operational backbone they need to grow and thrive. As an entrepreneur since 2017, she built her path through experimentation and determination pairing her technical background in agronomy with business fundamentals she gained through AWE and the strategic, systems-oriented leadership she developed through YLAI.

Lisa is currently completing a Master's degree in Management and Business Development at Université de Montpellier, further strengthening the expertise she brings to Haitian entrepreneurs and businesses.Lisa's journey embodies a truth at the heart of Haiti's path forward: it is Haitians themselves who must write their own future.
By turning knowledge into practice and using her experience to help other businesses become more structured and resilient, Lisa is helping build the economic foundation of a Haiti shaped by Haitians, for Haitians.

Au cours des cinq derniers mois, environ 130 000 enfants en Haïti ont bénéficié de programmes nutritionnels soutenus par les États-Unis, dont 5 130 traités pour une malnutrition aiguë sévère et 6 547 pour une malnutrition aiguë modérée.

Un an après le lancement de l’initiative « America First Foreign Assistance », les investissements américains sont plus flexibles, plus transparents pour les contribuables américains et produisent des résultats tangibles — notamment des soins nutritionnels vitaux pour les enfants de moins de cinq ans en Haïti, dans le cadre de la stratégie « America First Global Health » du Département d’État.

Voici un exemple concret : une petite fille de 20 mois originaire du département de Nippes est arrivée alors qu’elle ne pesait que 3,5 kg. Après six semaines de traitement financé par les États-Unis, elle a pris 2 kg et s’est remise d’un état qui mettait sa vie en danger.

Voilà à quoi ressemble une aide stratégique axée sur les résultats : chaque dollar est justifié par des résultats concrets. L’ambassade des États-Unis à Port-au-Prince reste déterminée à développer les programmes de nutrition et à améliorer la santé infantile dans tout Haïti.

Over the past five months, ~130,000 children in Haiti have benefited from U.S.-supported nutrition services, including 5,130 treated for severe acute malnutrition and 6,547 for moderate acute malnutrition.

One year into America First Foreign Assistance, U.S. investments are more agile, more accountable to the American taxpayer, and delivering real results — including life-saving nutrition care for children under five in Haiti through the Department of State's America First Global Health Strategy.

One story: A 20-month-old girl in Nippes Department arrived weighing just 3.5 kg. After six weeks of U.S.-supported treatment, she gained 2 kg and recovered from a life-threatening condition.

This is what strategic, results-driven assistance looks like — every dollar justified by real outcomes. The U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince remains committed to expanding nutrition services and improving child health across Haiti.

La stabilité d’Haïti passe par la création d’opportunités pour sa jeunesse. L’Ambassade des États-Unis en Haïti est fière de s’associer à CEDEL Haïti dans le cadre d’un programme de formation professionnelle de trois mois destiné à 30 jeunes du Cap-Haïtien, leur permettant d’acquérir des compétences concrètes en plomberie, électricité et carrelage.

Lorsque les jeunes disposent de véritables alternatives — une formation, un emploi et la possibilité de construire leur avenir — ils deviennent des acteurs essentiels du développement et de la stabilité de leur pays, plutôt que de se retrouver exposés aux réseaux qui tirent profit de l’instabilité.

Les États-Unis demeurent pleinement engagés aux côtés du peuple haïtien afin de créer des opportunités économiques et de renforcer la stabilité,

afin que les Haïtiens puissent eux-mêmes contribuer à façonner l’avenir de leur pays.

Summer vacation is a critical window for protecting Haiti's youth from gang recruitment.
We commend the Haitian-led peace education initiative championed by Commissioner Michel Leonidas, which is reaching 1,150 children with vocational training, civic education, sports, arts, and music, offering young Haitians safe alternatives to violence and a real path toward a stable future. This homegrown effort, led by the Jean-Baptiste Foundation, reflects the kind of community-driven solutions that will ultimately determine Haiti's path forward.

Cette semaine, nous mettons à l'honneur Joncka Ruth Pharissa J., jeune entrepreneure, étudiante mémorante en Administration des affaires, ancienne participante du programme Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) promotion 2024, et fondatrice de Kreyalab, une agence de communication créative basée en Haïti.

Passionnée par la communication, le design et l'entrepreneuriat, Joncka conçoit des projets qui aident les entreprises, organisations et entrepreneurs à renforcer leur image et leur présence auprès du public. Forte de sa formation académique et de son expérience concrète en création et en gestion de projets, elle met ses compétences au service d'initiatives porteuses d'innovation et de développement local.

À travers Kreyalab, elle accompagne les marques dans la construction de leur identité visuelle : production de contenus, marketing digital, photographie, vidéo et communication événementielle. Son objectif : aider les entreprises haïtiennes à mieux raconter leur histoire, gagner en visibilité et révéler tout leur potentiel dans un monde de plus en plus numérique.
