Count Josip Jelačić was inaugurated as the 🇭🇷 viceroy on 5 June, 1848 in Zagreb. Count Laval Nugent of 🇮🇪 played a significant role in this historical event. Nugent's son Albert held the 🇭🇷 flag (replica in the picture below) at Jelačić's inauguration.

The annual Bloomsday festival is now a fortnight away in the City of P**a plus and it is packed with interesting events--as it is every year!

This event was founded more than a decade ago by a few admirers of James Joyce who came together to form Bloomsday Croatia. As a result of their work, the public became aware of the connection between their city and the 🇮🇪 literary giant. 📚

The City has taken over the event and they do a remarkable job every year also. We're lucky to have all of these good people on our side!

⭐️ Thank you to all who engaged with and facilitated yesterday's exhibition of Gaelic Games as part of Zagreb's Europe Day celebrations.

☘ Alongside an exciting range of musical and sporting performances, people of all ages practiced their hand-passing and solo-ing skills with the city's top GAA players.
