On 14 May, Ambassador Rodgers hosted a reception in Kosovo, where officials, diplomats, NGO representatives, and members of the community came together to celebrate Australia.
The event also included an exhibition of the beautiful Bábbarra Women’s Centre textile prints – hand-printed textiles which showcase the artists’ spiritual, historic and environmental connection to country.

It was also an opportunity for Ambassador Rodgers to say goodbye to Kosovo and its community, as his term is slowly coming to an end.
While in Pristina, the Ambassador met with the Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo, H.E. Ms Albulena Xaxhiu, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, H.E. Mr. Glauk Konjufca.
The two final calls highlighted the successful cooperation between the two countries and the ongoing efforts to continue to foster the Australia – Kosovo relationship.

Many thanks to all the wonderful people who’ve accompanied Ambassador Rodgers on his incredible journey over the past three years, and many thanks to everyone who came to last week’s event and made this visit feel even more special.

As one chapter comes to an end, another one begins. ✨

A special “passing the torch” moment took place yesterday as the position of Public Diplomacy Officer transitioned from one colleague to another. 🤝

We had the opportunity to thank Dijana Grahovac once again for all the effort, dedication, and incredible energy she brought to the role over the past period.
Her contribution has truly been valued, and it has been a pleasure having her as the part of the team.

At the same time, we are delighted to welcome Cvijeta Susnik Akmadzic to the embassy as our new Public Diplomacy Officer.
We are thrilled to have Cvijeta🌸on board, and we are looking forward to many projects, fresh perspectives, ideas, and opportunities for future cooperation.

We wish them both all the best in the exciting chapters ahead. 😊

On 25 April, Ambassador Rodgers welcomed officials, diplomatic representatives and friends from Australia, New Zealand, and Croatia to commemorate Anzac Day at the monument for fallen soldiers at Mirogoj Cemetery in Zagreb.

Wreaths were laid by the Australian and New Zealand delegations, headed by the Australian Ambassador, Richard Rodgers, and the New Zealand Honorary Consul, Marijana Šarolić Robić. Several foreign Ambassadors, Defence Attachés, Croatian government officials, and members of the community laid a rose to pay tribute to the Anzacs.

We acknowledge the Turkish Embassy representatives for their support and reading of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s words.
A special thanks to all the poem readers and the Croatian Ministry of Defense for supplying the official bugler to play the Last Post and The Rouse.

We honour and remember all the men and women who have served in war, conflict, and peacekeeping missions and those who continue to serve.

Lest we forget.

Australian born ballerina Natalia Kosovac plays the lead role in the upcoming ballet “The Sleeping Beauty” which premiers Friday, 10 April at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. 🩰
The national ballet champion will bring to life Princess Aurora, a character from one of the most beautiful fairy tales.
Natalia has been recently featured in Croatian media for her prominent achievements and an interesting dancing pathway that took her on a journey from Australia to Croatia.

We had the honour of welcoming Natalia at the embassy earlier this year.😊

We wish her and the entire ballet team all the best in their upcoming projects.
