Here we see a photo I took a few years back of the series which commemorates the region's Partisan fighters and who fought and fell in the People's Liberation Struggle (1941-1945) against fascist oppression and also the 455 civilians (mostly ethnic-Serbs, Jews, Roma, antifascists, among others) who were executed at this spot during the war. The central elements of this memorial are five 18m tall stone block cones topped with copper points. This site was devastated during the Yugoslav Wars (leaving many of the cones destroyed), but the monument was considerably rehabilitated in 2013, with the copper cones replaced and refurbished.
