Green-Breasted Mango (Anthracothorax Prevostii)
4.5 in. (12 cm) Male green with blackish blue stripe down throat and center of chest; note purple tail and decurved bill. Female and inmature white below with dark green stripe from chin to belly; inmature shows buff on sideof throat. Often perches high in canopy.

YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER
Setophaga Dominica

5 in. (13 cm). Face with bold black-and-white pattern; throat is yellow; underparts white with weak streaking along sides and flanks. Fairly common winter visitor on Caribbean Slope, and interior highlands(late July-late Apr.); rare on Pacific Slope; to 8040 ft. (2450 m). Found in a variety of woodland habitats; also disturbed habitats such as coffee plantations. Prefers foraging in palm trees when available. Generally gleans insects at midto upper levels, often in mixed-species flocks. May also feed on small fruits and berries or at nectar sources. Call a rich tip. U.S. (breeding) to Caribbean and Colombia (winter).

AMAZONA AUROPALLIATA

'' YELLOW-NAPED PARROT''

14.5 in. (37 cm). The nominate subspecies (A.a auropalliata; Pacific Slope) is similar to Yellow-headed Parrot, but has Yellow Nape (may also show small yellow patch just above bill) and lacks red at bend of wing; bill steely gray. Individuals on Bay Islands (caribaea) and individuals of example Honduras (parvipes) have head pattern of Yellow-naped, but red shoulders like Yellow-headed Parrot. Some have yellowish bills like Yellow-headed Parrot and others have grayish bills like auropalliata. Further study is needed to determine the taxonomic affinities of these populations. Uncommon and local on Pacific Slope; to 2,460 ft. (750 m). Common in Honduras ne. Honduras; rare on Roatan, but common on Guanaja in Bay Islands. Found in lowland coastal disturbed habitat, semideciduous and thorn forest, and mangroves. Solitary or in pairs. Calls similar to Yellow-headed Parrot's. Mexico to Costa Rica.

33 in. (84 cm). Greenish overall with bare pinkish face; forecrown red; tail mostly red. Fairly common (but declining) in e. Honduras; to 2,460 ft. (750 m). Found in rainforest. Solitary or in pairs. PSITTACIDAE: This group includes the large, long-tailed macaws...with their notably pointed wings and tails. Their feet are zygodactyl ( 2 toes foward and 2 point backward), which makes it easy for them to grip branches while also holding the fruits, nuts, and seeds they feed on...These species are long-lived and highly intelligent. 16 Species ( 8 genera)

35 in. (84 cm.) Brilliant scarlet-red body with bright yellow and blue wings. Fairly common (but declining) in Honduras. 3610 ft. (1,100m.) Found in rainforest, taller semideciduous forest, and pine savanna. Usually in pairs or small groups. Often heard before seen, call is loud, harsh wraaaahh! National bird of Honduras.
